This recipe can be made two ways – either in a conventional oven or in an air fryer. Pictured are mummy dogs cooked in an oven, but we will provide instructions for an air fryer as well.
How to make Halloween Mummy Hot Dogs
Halloween Mummy Hot Dogs are one of the simplest (and most fun) recipes that you can make with or without your kids. Follow these simple steps (in more detail at the bottom of this post) and you'll be enjoying your mummy dogs in a matter of minutes!
Step 1: Prep your oven, baking sheet, and ingredients.
Step 2: Flatten your crescent roll dough and cut into long, thin strips.
Step 3: Wrap the hot dogs with the dough, leaving space around the “face” area for the candy eyeballs.
Step 4: Line the mummies up on the baking sheet and spray the dough with cooking spray.
Step 5: Bake your mummy hot dogs until golden brown, 13 to 15 minutes.
Step 6: Apply the candy eyeballs using a dot of ketchup or mustard. Enjoy!
How to Make Mummy Hot Dogs in an Air Fryer
Don't have an air fryer? Follow the conventional oven steps.
Step 1: Preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees F.
Step 2: Flatten your crescent roll dough and cut into long, thin strips.
Step 3: Wrap the hot dogs with the dough, leaving space around the “face” area for the candy eyeballs.
Step 4: Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and line the mummies up in the basket in a single layer. Spray the dough with cooking spray.
Step 5: Air fry your mummy hot dogs until golden brown, 6 to 10 minutes.
Step 6: Apply the candy eyeballs using a dot of ketchup or mustard. Enjoy!

Halloween Mummy Hot Dogs
Ingredients
- 1 Pack Beef Franks (8 ct)
- 1 Pack Crescent Rolls
- Candy Eyeballs
- Cooking Spray
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spray lightly with cooking spray.
3. Open crescent roll tube and spread dough on a flat surface. Using a pizza cutter or a knife, slice it into long, thin strips.
4. Wrap strips of dough around each hot dog, criss-crossing to create a mummy-like pattern. Leave space at the top for the "face." Place each mummy on the prepared baking sheet as you complete them.
5. Lightly coat the mummies with cooking spray.
6. Squirt a dot of ketchup or mustard on the back of each candy eyeball and stick to the "face"/empty space on the hot dog.
7. Bake for 13-15 minutes, or until the dough is gold brown.
8. Serve immediately with your favorite condiments!
